Peru Part 2 – The road to ruin(s)
Leaving Huarez there was one last hurrah for the mountains of the Cordillera Blanca before we settled in for a couple of weeks of switchbacking up and down umpteen high passes en route to Cuzco. Add in a visit to Machu Picchu, a scenic backcountry route across to Lake Titicaca, many peaceful bush camps and some catch ups with other ‘Alaska2Argentina’ cyclists, and this was a memorable ‘part two’ of our ride across the Peruvian Andes …
Another fantastic snippet of roads, rivers, rocks, people, dogs, donkeys, sheep, tent sites etc. Loved the music. I’ve only just found out that David Byrne from Talking Heads is author of a cycling book ‘Bicycle diaries’. I haven’t read it yet but it’s on my to-read list.
Really? I didn’t know that … one for the on-road reading list … :)
What can I say Ed? Another wonderful video. Youbtwo rock!! Awesome. Welcome Bolivia. Cheers.
Cheers Debbie, we just reached Chile … Bolivia was the best, we loved it – video & blog soon ?
Way cooll??
Getting hotter now we’ve (temporarily) lost some elevation …!!
Brilliant once again! Well done – and happy travels.
Cheers Mark, new Bolivia video in progress – such an amazing ride on the altiplano
What happened to the beard Ed? I thought the Antarctic explorer was a good look. Cutting it off has made you gallivant around flagpoles like you gone loco!
Too hot for Antarctic activity … the grizz will be back further south I suspect …
