This is the blog of Gaye (Flipper) & Ed Bourke, both cycling obsessed vagrants from St Helens in Tasmania, Australia. Gaye is originally from New Zealand, but is now settled in Australia having somehow acquired an Aussie husband, house and (sometimes) a job.

Life for us is all about the bike – when at home we commute by bike, ride road, CX, MTB, and occasionally race (usually badly). The Simpson Desert MTB race has been a perennial favourite, with both of us competing four times, and occasionally threatening to return.

And of course there is our passion for adventure cycling and bike touring. Our bikes have taken us through most of Australia, Europe, Asia and the Middle East plus our most recent two year journey through North, Central and South America.

This ensures that neither of us will climb the corporate ladder, or accumulate vast wealth, but we’re okay with that.

See you on the road!
